about

Recorded for a tiny little Christmas compilation of my friends on a message board 20 years ago. It ain't a masterpiece, but it works a lot better than I remembered, especially on headphones, where the comfy fuzz bass drowns out (some of) the terrible lyrics.

lyrics

(I hate these lyrics, but I love you people and feel an obligation to you, so here.)

One burned-out bulb infects the whole string
Shorts out the house
Makes you drink

So humor me for an hour or two
And hold me as if you've nothing better to do
We can sit up on the moon
Watch the world freeze to death

Wear a trefoil of red and green
I'll drop a trefoil as an offering

We'll apologize to the pollution-addled birds
Link arms and fly
Ditch our friends without a word
Away from the ghastly sounds of breaking toys on Christmas day
Dodge the death comet
Watch the corpse's mohawk fray

So humor me for a minute or two
And hold me as if you've nothing better to do
We can make love on the moon
Watch the world freeze to death

We'll see Bible verses spelled in shingles
On ice-caked southern roofs
Brand-new video boxing gloves
Can't keep kids' hands frostbite proof
At the Alpine Valley clusterfuck
Hippies quaff Bud Ice Nine
We should be okay for a while
Tell me we'll be okay
We should be okay for a while
Tell me we'll be okay
We should be okay for a while
Tell me we'll be okay
